Who We Are
You could say it started with fish. Or at least, a love for being on the water.
Bill Smith founded Mildew Busters in the early ’80s, inspired by a simple idea he saw in Florida—solving home moisture issues before they became problems. And while Bill might say he’s just a fisherman who got sidetracked, he saw a real need.
Twin Fork Waterproofing, now the primary division of Mildew Busters, was built so homeowners on the East End could protect their homes from the ground up—safely, permanently, and with the kind of care only locals bring.
Today, Bill and his son Derrick run the business together, combining decades of hands-on expertise with modern waterproofing technology.
Derrick leads daily operations, integrating proven methods and fresh solutions, while Bill continues sharing his trusted, battle-tested wisdom. Their work is straightforward, reliable, and rooted in deep respect for the homes they’re invited into.
